::: Extremely fine AUD. Check samples for decline/acquire analysis or some quick joy rides.
::: Warts: NOT MANY! Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Most clapping during music completely healed but #11 has about 40secs (near mike claps cleaned up) & 1st few seconds of #12 & 1st second of #18 have clapping. #16 1st 5secs slightly rough.
::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: This Mk2 version remasters #01-15 (hezekiahx2's M1 "Mk1" upload) & ADDS 3 MORE songs from another M1 copy.
::: hezekiahx2's upload was slightly better than my metal cassette & remastered it all (mike bumps, clapping, speed correction, etc).
::: Snail mail traded for years with all trax but the commonly circulating online version is missing #16 to #20.
::: Cat mostly plays material from "Tea For The Tillerman", which had been released in November of 1970.
::: It seems likely this is (now) the complete Cat Stevens set.
::: Wednesday evening 8pm. Tickets $3.50, $4.50, $5.50. Taj Mahal opened.
::: "Longer Boats" features the extra final verse which was not included on the album.

Recording Information: unknown mono cassette recorder & mike -> master mono cassettes.

Transfer (tracks #01-15 circa 1981): master mono cassettes --> unknown cassette recorder -> unknown reel recorder -> 1st generation Maxell UD 35-90 7 1/2" 1/4 track reel.
Transfer (tracks #01-15 circa 2006): 1st generation Maxell UD 35-90 7 1/2" 1/4 track reel -> Revox reel recorder -> Tascam CD-RW2000 -> EAC -> CDwav -> flacs.
Transfer (tracks #16-20 1980s): master mono cassettes -> unknown cassette recorders -> 1st generation MXS-90 cassette, Dolby B on.
Transfer (2017-05-xx): 1st generation MXS-90 cassette on Nakamichi 680ZX cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth adjusted for individual tape -> Sony Linear PCM Recorder PCM-M10 -> LPCM 44.10kHz/16bit wav files.

Remastering 2017-05-xx: wavs from 2 M1 sources -> Audacity [normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, #01-15 -1.5 & #16-20 -4.4% pitch (speed) fixes with single pass per segment after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification, NO equalisation except on some split second mike bumps, no noise reduction] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. "New" part (#16-20, last 3 songs) used left channel only after remastering. Clapping during music (& a lot between) has been cleaned up (or lowered) & is MUCH less intrusive. Spliced in 2secs of applause at end of #15 to ease a transition. First uploaded 2017-05-xx.

Cat Stevens born "Steven Demetre Georgiou", aka "Steve Adams", and now known as "Yusuf Islam" - acoustic guitar, piano, vocals // Alun Davies - acoustic guitar, vocals // Larry Steele - electric bass, congas // Gerry Conway - drums.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 362 ::: Thanks to the original taper & trader, & the previous uploader of trax #01-10, DIMER hezekiahx2! ::: Corrections welcome ::: I always loved this - one of the first couple of Cat Stevens live recordings I got & still my favorite of the 15 or so I've heard. While never a mega Cat fan, I've always been a place carved out for him, especially material of this era. The guy was tapped into the vein. Had there not been the added production on his albums, I think he would have been a superstar, but in the early to mid 70s, Cat was considered rather twee & kind of uncool in my scene - albeit with some fine songs, and I didn't really get into him about a decade after this period. While I enjoy the Los Angeles TV show & the Santa Monica gig, I find this a more dynamic show. While Santa Monica has more songs, Cat is having problems with his voice in places. An incredibly respectful & quiet audience, even for an "acoustic" rock gig - just check "Fill My Eyes". Presumably they were rather spellbound as Cat was playing stunning material from what is certainly his most prolific period, a fact born out by the intensity of the performance here. I spent 2 full days working on this & then gave it a couple of full listens on the stereo - it sounds great. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
