This tour was called "The Lucero Ramblin' Roadshow And Memphis Revue" for a reason - it featured bands based in Memphis and incorporated a traditional horn section that played parts of sets with all the bands. Very rare that you get to see three great groups on one bill in a club these days but it went down on this night. And for a measly $16. Support your locally owned venues folks. They deliver.

Cedric Burnside & Lighnin' Malcolm (The Juke Joint Duo) filled the middle slot in the roadshow with some authentic Mississippi party music. They can't help but crank out some tasty goodies as Cedric's grandpappy was RL Burnside, one of the hill country greats. Lightnin' Malcolm has a traditional hill country influence in his playing as well. With that said, Cedric and Lightnin' put their own signature on a lot of these songs adding a nice freshness while keeping the traditional framework. My only complaint is their set was way too short - this is a band you need to spend a few hours with, trade a few stories, have a few drinks. If they're playing anywhere near you, headlining or not, do yourself a favor and get a dose. Y'all enjoy.
