Ödåkra is a district in Helsingborg, Sweden who plays host to a wonderful jazz festival every august.
It's a festival in the smaller format, one main and fairly large stage and one small and more intimate.
This year was their fourth year and the gig I am sharing here is the best I've seen there so far. The
festival has been going for four years and I hope they'll stick around for many years to come.

Every year when the line-up is released I go through all names and see which ones I want to see live.
Champian Fulton released a live album "Meet me at Birdland" last year and that one really caught my
interest. I had never heard of her before, and was immedately struck by her sheer joy of singing and
playing, and for the gig in Helsingborg she came with a band that really did the music justice. It
was a great efternoon in the sun, everyone was all smiles and the music was really inspired! You
can hear her short bursts of laughter and shouts during the solos, she seemed to have as much fun as
the rest of us.
