Another great gig from Charlie Parr, did a whole bunch of different songs this time. And joy of joy, there was no one whooing all the time. The occasional whoo and sometimes enthusiastic audience do not detract from this excellent recording and show.

I have the Northcote Social Club almost ready to go, but thought I'd upload this first.

I sat at the front almost directly in front of Charlie Parr, about 1.5 metres from the stage. Mics on lapels facing forwards.

Go see him when he's in your town, definitely worth it. Buy his records.
His first album - 1922 has been reissued in Australia, it had been out of print for a while. Vodaphone used 1922 Blues in an advertising campaign over here, resulting in the album being picked up by a local company. Hence the tour of the east coast with Paul Kelly, and a few solo shows. I caught two of the shows in Melbourne after hearing him interviewed on 3RRR-FM, where he played a few tunes.

Charlie Parr - National Steel Resonator Guitar, Banjo, Vocals, Stomp Box

Note - The banjo was borrowed from Gus, of the band Hobson's Choice, who were the support at the Northcote Social Club. Unfortunatelty it spontaneously detuned itself during the song - Title Unknown.
