Chasin' the Trane —In the 1960s, saxophonist John Coltrane took his jazz saxophone in giant steps forward many musicians took decades to catch up. For his 80th birthday, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis remakes Coltrane's masterpieces Giant Steps, Africa, and My Favorite Things, with fresh arrangements by Marsalis, Victor Goines, and Ted Nash.
