This is the audio soundtrack to a full length movie of The Cheepskates performing two sets on 10/31/83 at a legendary club in Manhattan named The Dive. Though the original two track cassette recording was limited to one onstage microphone for music on one track and three vocal mics on the other it was brilliantly mixed a few weeks later at Dubway studios in NYC by engineer Al Houghton. In 2006 it was digitally remastered at Memory Lane Studios in Hollywood prior to the editing of over four and a half hours of video footage from three cameras.
The band had been together for less than a year but had already recorded fifteen studio tracks, thirteen of which would comprise their debut album that was released in 1984 on Midnight Records. This performance contains eight of those original songs as well as a host of cover material both popular and obscure. The recording and filming of this show was a project in very limited analog formats and would not be fully realized until they were digitally converted in 2006.
