This is the second half of a live broadcast on WYBC 94.3 FM in New Haven, Connecticut. This was performed on the campus of Yale University during a midnight show called "Music from The Swamp."
Probably the finest live recording of the original line-up, this recording offers eight original tracks from their first album, one stellar performance of the Booker T & MGs tune "Green Onions," and two tracks from their second album which would be released later that year. The sound quality is excellent but the board operator turned the vocal mics off during the extended music jams so the first verses during the songs "Drive-in Movie" and "Every Man's a King" cannot be heard. That is not the case for the song "Shadows of Loneliness" which really shows off the band's ability to weave in and out of musical passages, turning an original three minute album track into a seven minute space jam. Enjoy!

“Where DJs Gather”
March 1985

If you happen to be in New Haven around midnight on a Monday night, and your dial is set for 94.3 FM, you just might pick up some unusual strains. The music may sound bold and brassy, or maybe it’s low-key and mellow, but chances are you have stumbled upon
“Music from the Swamp,” one of many programs broadcast from the studios of the Yale campus radio, WYBC. Every Monday night, a band sets up its equipment in one of the back studios of the station and plays its music live over the air. Thor Moser, a junior in Saybrook and general manager of WYBC, says, “We have a mixer board so we mix the instruments. It sounds garage-y, but people enjoy it.
