Known Faults:
-Probably incomplete

Swittich taped 13 shows in 1973-1974 in the Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia area, four have been previously released from straight transfers and the balance are uncirculated. In the past collectors offering to transfer shows wanted to pick and choose specific shows, of course, we will be releasing every show...no tape left behind.

Volume 7 in our series features Chicago at the Charleston Civic Center, in 1974 the band was a runaway success with their entire catalog, all 7 of the albums, in the Billboard 200 simultaneously. Peter Cetera had emerged as one of the main lead singer and many of the early political leanings in their music were being replaced by the, although catchy, lyrically shallow love songs like "Just You 'N' Me" that would be their very lucrative future for the next 50 years.

I asked Scott for any memories of this show and though he said he didn't have a major memory of the performance, he did recall that the sound wasn't too good as they were sitting to the extreme side of the stage. He also mentioned not being familiar with the newer songs other than the hits they found the show underwhelming.

The show is possibly incomplete, most 1974 shows open with "Introduction" but there is about a minute and a half of tuning at the start so it's possible it wasn't played. The setlists for the 1974 tour are not static based on the circulating shows, however, they did close most shows with "25 or 6 to 4" which is not here, the chances they didn't play that as the final encore seems unlikely.

This show does provide us a couple of songs that don't appear to be played too often like "State Of The Union" and "Devil's Sweet".

Thanks to swittich for reaching out for assistance in getting these historic shows out, the tapes have been safely stored and so far so good on the transfers.

We also thank Goody for his never-ending pitch work, our releases wouldn't be nearly as good without his assistance.

Artwork is included and an ad for the show.
