*************9th Annual Benefit Concert for Matt's Promise**************

Matt's Promise is a project-based foundation dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people affected by terminal illnesses. Matthew Wiederkehr was a devoted father, wonderful husband, loving brother and son, and loyal friend. At just 33 years old, he was diagnosed with stage-4 colon cancer. Rather than worrying about his own condition, Matt grew concerned about other young people battling terminal illness. This newfound passion drove Matt to dedicate his final days to creating a foundation to outlive him and help others for years to come. Matt's Promise was born.

Show notes:

This was a suit and tie private event at $1000-$5000 a plate, if you bought a table for ten between $10,000-$50,000. As a freebie guest there was zero tolerability for me taping. So, I have omni mics taped to my undershirt like a police informant. I held my jacket open to allow full access to the mics located under my dress shirt at the tips of the collars on either side of my tie. As you can tell from the complete lack of applause, most of the time no one is within twenty feet of me, but sometimes I get audio bombed by passerby's and during slower songs you can hear the cocktail chatter in the background. Only a few hundred people stayed for the show and far less by the end. I added a pic of the stage setup. I worked the left stack.

Cipriani Wall St is an incredible venue, around 700-800 capacity, with a top of the line sound system providing pristine sound for such concerts as 50 Cent, James Taylor, Katy Perry, Elton John, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, Duran Duran, Sex Pistols, Santana and so many others.

Recording notes:

Track 13 at 1:10 I had to move. Dropout at 1:11 followed by muffled sound. At 1:17 external mics unplug. 1:18-1:22 recorded with internal mics. Quick dropout at 1:23 as mics plugged back in, then final dropout between 1:27-1:32.

Recorded from three separate areas. Songs 1-3 far side back left corner about 50ft from hanging stacks. Tracks 4-13 recorded 20 ft from left stack. Tracks 14-19 recorded more middle of floor about 30ft from stack. Sound basically remains constant regardless of location.
