Notes:.
1. I recorded the show from the 4th row just right of center. The sound mix from the P.A. was not too good for the first 2 songs, but got better after that. Vocals really low in the mix. The bass guitar is also almost non-existant in many songs, but that is the way the sound was out of the P.A. The bass had problems in Free and is missing for most of the song.
2. While not mentioned at all during the show, James Pankow is out due to shoulder / ankle surgery and supposedly would be back the week of July 5th. Who knows for sure? Nick Lane had subbed for James before and did so at these first few shows.
3. I've included a cover for an iPod / MP3 player. All files are ready with metadata to convert for iPod / MP3 players if desired.
4. I took a bunch of photos before the show on stage and during the show at my seat. The one photo of the pre-show crowd taken from the stage was shot by a Chicago staff member and posted on Facebook. I inlcuded it not because me, my daughter and my wife are in it, but because it gives a good shot of the venue from the band's perspective. There is a photo of the set list taped to the floor. Also a photo of Lou Pardini playing the piano prior to the show while I was on stage.
5 Because of a 20 minute intermission I've made the set for 2 CDs if you wish. Disc 2 would start with track 12, Intermission Music.
6. Robert Lamm was not as much out front as I thought he might be. Even though an original member he was almost relegated to second fiddle, so to speak. Nonetheless, he genuinely looked to be having a great time. Lee Loughnane was truly having a great time as well. He is the one singing 'Colour My World'. You could tell the whole band was stoked to be playing in front a live audience again and crowd was exceptionally receptive.
