NOTES; Well, this maybe the rarest and most unusual tape I have recorded and transferred… why? Well, if you listen to the intro Corea tells the audience that the Acoustic Bass did not arrive at the airport and therefore Pattatucci plays six string electric bass! The Band was touring supporting their GRP “Alive” CD which features the acoustic trio… As much as I cherish acoustic bass , it’s so difficult to hear it live in concert well, so ironically this Uber rare show lends the listener to very unique performance … We were about 35 feet center so it doesn’t sound real close, it was strange seating cabaret tables up front , or sit in seats … it’s really a lecture hall more than music and lots of bounce to the room too … This was before I had a portable DAT and the Panasonic Walkman sounds OK for what it is … I think there was some on board compression … , these tapes could use some EQ, compression and probably some pitch correction .. anyway, this IS Uber rare in my opinion and has never been circulated… until now.
