LDB Master Series #233

Hello, this is a collection of masters I would like to seed here. I've been taping shows for more than 20 years
and have an awful lot of masters. Most of them are in the old cassette format, some others are on MiniDisc and
others are on CD. I've taped many shows of many artists over the years, so don't be surprised if you will find
many different artists taped! Some shows are already circulating, some others
have not circulated through collectors yet. But most of all, enjoy! They all come from my mastertapes!

Please DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3's is the right way to make
me stop sharing music here.

This isn't the best Chick Corea line-up. Since a few years I have seen better bands with Chick. But he changes so much
and he likes to play all kinds of music that I do not mind. It is nice to see him with different musicians every tour.
This 'freedom band' is a somehow strange mix of backgrounds and experiences, from Roy Haynes to the new generation of
McBride and Garrett, with Corea somehow in between. The result is some mainstream jazz where the youngers play at
somehow slower pace to keep Roy at the rhythm. They seemed a bit uncomfortable and unable to give all the freedom they
could.

But at the end of the official set it was Roy, who did not seem to exit the stage, who started to sing a James Brown
melody and then forced the rest of the band to play behind him, the result was a mega, gigantic, extra-long (over 28
minutes!!!) jam session based on Brown's 'Sex Machine' where almost anything happened:

- the band switched instruments, with McBride ending up on piano and singing; Chick made a drums solo and Garrett
(presented as "the real Kenny G" by McBride) singing like a fool
- at one point Chick asked the member of the Vijan Iyer trio, who had played before, to join the session...
- ...soon to be followed by the members of Stanley Clarke's band (who would play the festival the day after), including
Hiromi!!!

At the end there must have been 12 musicians on stage! What a great moment!

This was captured by your truly ldb, so enjoy!
