Notes:
This concert is a must-have for anybody collecting music from any of these
remarkable musicians. This release comes complete with scanned in images of
the concert program, and spare ticket that didn't get used.

I recorded two consecutive nights -- Santa Cruz, and Modesto. Even though the
sets are the same, the Modesto show appealed to me much more. It seemed to me
that other than Chick, every other musician didn't just "kick it up a notch" --
but kicked it up two or three notches. Chick of course, played flawless as
usual.

After purchasing tickets for the Santa Cruz show, I began to wonder if the
concert hall acoustics would sound very good. The pictures of the concert
hall didn't look too good, so within five minutes I was back online looking
at tickets for the following night: Modesto. There was only one catch:
Modesto is 100 miles away. I put the idea in my mind that I would only
consider driving 100 miles to a concert, if everything was perfect: the
concert hall acoustics were great, and the tickets had to be the most perfect
tickets I ever saw. I looked at the pictures of the concert hall: looks like
the acoustics are great. So I pulled up tickets, and was offered 13th row,
dead center. How much more perfect does it get?

Not only did the hall live up to my expectations, but the playing seemed to
far surpass the previous night. All-in-all, it was worth the 100-mile drive.
