Pomeroy is a village in and the county seat of Meigs County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River.
The population was just 1,966 at the 2000 census.
During the late 19th century, Pomeroy was an important producer of coal and salt.
The first coal barges on the Ohio River were loaded there.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.3 square miles (8.5 km2), of which, 3.2 square miles (8.3 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (1.52%) is water.

Pomeroy is also listed in "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" twice!
Once for being the only to town in the entire Western hemisphere for not having any "cross" streets.
All the streets dead end into one another and you can then only turn right or left.
The 2nd is for having the only Courthouse in the USA that is ground acessable on all 3 floors(It is built into the side of a mountain)~ wikipedi

On this night, at the begining when Chris comes out and says hello, introduces his band, and gives his usual thanks, he asks;
"Are the tapers ready?"
Notice he said "tapers" not Bootleggers!
I usually remember to give thanks at the bottom of my text documents when a band gives me premission to openly record them.
So a BIG thank you and a long overdue one goes out CHRIS DUARTE, for extreme generosity over the years in allowing so much access to the stage.
And a final thanks to arcme262 for essentially turning me onto him in first place.

This might be me favorite preformance from the 6 shows in Pomeroy i attended.
It certainly ranks in my top 5 of all the shows i've ever seen the CDG preform.

The CHRIS DUARTE GROUP played this very small tavern just 7 times between Jan2000 & May2003.
The very 1st gig took place there on January 19th 2000.
Unfortunately i did not attend that 1st gig.
But i did record the other 6, of which this is the third.
The rest will follow eventually.

PLEASE ENJOY THE MUSIC, WHILE YOU STILL CAN!
