Clifton Chenier Live At the Rainbow Tavern, Seattle, Washington (First Set) 1978-11-09 Reel-to-Reel AUD (Bill B. Tape) A Zydeco Dance Concert! (mp3 sample included)

Ok... here's a first for me in quite a while. There's no setlist here to give you, and what the titles are of some of the tracks is pure guesswork. Rather than making my own titles up, and with nothing to go by and no one (who is an authority on Clifton Chenier) to ask for help from, I'm passing this one on to you the way it is. I can say that this is a thoroughly enjoyable show. If you do have an idea as to the song titles, please let us all know!

I can tell you that the 20 tracks in this concert are divided into two cds. There are nine tracks on CD1 and 11 tracks on CD2, and that the beginning of CD2 is when I hear CC speaking for the first time. I'm reasonably certain the opening tracks are Clifton's backup band as he just appears without a change in arrangement, although why they played for over 35 minutes without him is unclear to me. Maybe they were trying to emulate James Brown?

This show runs 90 minutes, and represents an incomplete first set, from the start of the show till the first break. The sound quality is breathtaking for an audience recording.

Lastly, it's a great concert. Hey, get a drink and dance along!
