I'll be honest. I had never heard of Coco Montoya. One of my customers, An 82 year old woman named Norma, asked me what kind of music he played because the casino had offered her free tickets to see him, but she wasn't sure if she'd like him. I looked him up online and it said blues, formerly a member of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. That was good enough credentials for us, and we went. I was really impressed. Most of the time I find the blues to be a bit boring because it's all the same couple of songs with different lyrics, but this guy played smooth R&Bish blues in the vein of Robert Cray, and that's the kind of blues I like. He also played guitar left-handed with the strings right-handed, the way I often play guitar. I was sold. A good time was had by all.

After the show I Coco and his drummer did the obligatory meet & greet at the merch table, and I told him everything I just told you. They both signed my ticket and I left happy.

Bigdaddybflo was at night one of the Niagara Falls Blues Fest while I was at this show (you might see some of that surface here eventually), but I think I got the better deal.

Song titles are guessed by me based on lyric content. I think I got most of them pretty close to correct.
