WIKI:
Cold Cave is the experimental synthpop musical project of Wesley Eisold
based in New York City. Eisold is the project's singer and songwriter,
and is solely responsible for the band's direction though frequently
collaborates with a small core of other musicians and artists.
Cold Cave was founded by Wesley Eisold, former vocalist of several hardcore
groups including American Nightmare/Give Up the Ghost, Some Girls, and XO Skeletons,
and also the founder of publisher Heartworm Press. The group represents his first
venture into instrumentation. Though Cold Cave is a solo project, Eisold was soon
joined live by Dominick Fernow of Prurient. Caralee McElroy, formerly of Xiu Xiu,
joined in February 2009. She performed and recorded with the group before her departure
in early 2010. Cold Cave now includes additional live members, including former Mika Miko
frontwoman Jennifer Clavin.
After initial releases on Hospital Productions, What's Your Rupture?, and Heartworm Press,
the group is currently signed to Matador Records. Who re-released their debut LP, Love Comes
Close on November 3, 2009.
Cold Cave was among the bands chosen by Matt Groening to perform at the edition of the
All Tomorrow's Parties festival he curated in May 2010 in Minehead, England.
