Seven excellent new songs blended well with the usual favorites, making this the best performance I've seen by Collective Soul. I wasn't thrilled with the sound at the Fillmore this time, and the audience could have used a "collective" STFU at times, but the band didn't seem to mind. My immediate neighbors were no exception and behaved like they were in a room by themselves. I don't expect much in the way of personal space in this type of venue, but if you're over six feet tall and have a giant bag on your shoulder, maybe you shouldn't join your girlfriends when they wave you forward moments before the show. You certainly shouldn't immediately wave to your giant boyfriend and have him join you, completely blocking the view of those behind you. Once you've barged in, perhaps keep quiet and stand still? Forget it.
