A little background story to go along with the show...
I worked for a sound company in southern CT in the late 80s and early 90s.
Mostly I was a glorified moving man, long hours, shitty pay, and the women have all
gone home by the time you break down and get the truck loaded again...
We had a house system in a large club in Norwalk that got local and national bands,
and did everything from street fairs and festivals, to shows with small national acts at Columbia U, and in the NY/CT area. The guys who did most of the front of house sound have gone on to tour with national acts for the last 20 years...
At this show, because of a overbooked schedule, I ended up running monitors.
The owner of the company ran front of house, and decided to run my D5, which was a rare occasion. What followed was my favorite show I was ever involved with, and one of my high moments of 34 years of concert going.
***unfortunately the end of the show is missing. From what I remember, it was only three songs, Lester Chambers singing Time(has Come Today), something else, and Corky doing Missisippi Queen. The second part was on tape 3 of the Who from the night before at Giants Stadium. I made both shows for two people right after they happened. One was not a collector, and has no idea what happened to them. The other has been an avid collector for over 30 years, but he thinks it ended up with his ex-wife when some tapes he didn't master got split up in a divorce. My master from the Who got lost in auto accident, and so the end of this show will probably never show up.
