Key Bank Jazz Sunday, sponsored by Key Bank and Smooth Jazz, FM 104.9 This was the Sunday afternoon mainstage act at Tulip Fest, held on mother's day every year in Albany.

This recording is bright and loud, with great dynamics. Hard to tell it's an audience recording, except when people cough or talk. There is some occasional wind noise or other artifacts from the mics, some of which sound like the air pressure is changing inside your headphones. Good stuff.

Thanks to Tom Reizes for the DAT!

Of the Count Basie Orchestra, the Albany Times Union reported Grover Mitchell as saying: "We have a ton of music, 700-800 selections. It's impossible to get bored." And, "this band is so good it will scare you to death." Happy Mother's Day to you, too, Grover.
