boombox's notes june 2007:

First date on this year's UK and Ireland tour on which Joe promised
to perform his long-deleted 1971 album, 'War, War, War', in its
entirity. The venue was changed at less than a week's notice to
an intimate church in Cardiff Bay - a perfect location for a show like
this.

Audience downstairs, from where this was taped, were very
respectful, if a little restless, especially during the first half
(you hear the mics being knocked a few times). As the show
progressed, the applause gets louder and louder, hence my minor
volume edits. At times you hear some background noise from the
balcony, where the local promoter's family thought that as they
had organised it, they could talk and laugh all the way through.
Fortunately, they did not spoil this historic occasion, even for
me filming from up there.

After the powerful atmosphere of the first half, Joe treated us to
some lovely slide work and other highlights included a little country
and some very astute political comment on the state of current Welsh
politics (!!). Fish tunes to finish and two encores sent everyone home
happy.

There is some clipping at times and the whole recording is a little
bass heavy , but nothing a little personal EQ-ing can't fix.

Check out joe's upcoming gigs at www.countryjoe.com/gigs.html, and
especially for those in the UK, get out and see him - this is a VERY
special tour.

PS And also set your videos for the Isle of Wight Festival TV coverage!!

This show is offered with the full permission of Joe's UK management, so...

FOR TRADE ONLY - NEVER FOR SALE!!
