Total time ::: 2:01:35

::: Excellent stereo AUD. Check samples for download jitters or justification, or to get juiced up.
::: Warts: Almost none! Remnants of a few claps in music still audible, but most ALL are gone except some clapping in #03 & a bit in #10. Tiny bit o' sing-a-long in #10 & #36.
::: This is the complete show. Performance began around 8:20 PM.
::: Venue was mostly seating, with an open space just in front of the stage with a few tables.
::: The hall seats about 300 and was perhaps 3/4 full for this gig.
::: Tickets were $27 for members & $32 for the general public.

Recording Information ::: Sony PCM-M10 using internal mics on the recorder -> master wav.

Playback 2017-05-08 ::: master 44.1 kHz wav -> computer -> Audacity [fades, volume adjustments & approx 16 hours of manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, clapping & extraneous noise repairs, NO equalisation or noise reduction] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded 2017-06-14.

Taper's recording notes ::: Technique: M10 attached to a small stand which I held in my lap in front of me. I was sitting in the "front" row, which was actually about 20 feet from the stage, with a few tables with people sitting at them in between the "front" row & the stage. I was just off from center towards stage left, closer to Derek See's guitar than to Matt Piucci. Mic sensitivity was set to "Hi" for the acoustic portion & through "Hold On It's Coming" & then was reset to "Lo" after that. During the first set, Piucci's guitar was very low in the mix, almost inaudible. This improved for the second set after a discussion with the sound engineer. For the acoustic portion, the mics were aimed partly at the left PA stack & partly at the stage, as most of the sound for CJ was coming from the PA. For the electric portion, the mics were aimed at the stage directly, as a substantial portion of the sound in the room was coming from the guitar & bass amps & drum kit directly. The distortion you hear on the bass at times was intentional, generated by an effects pedal. Sound overall was very good in the hall. At one point staff came over to tell me that videotaping was not allowed, & I said that I was not videotaping, & they said OK.

Line-up ::: Country Joe McDonald - vocals, guitar, harmonica // Matt Piucci - electric guitar // Derek See - electric guitar // Alec Palao: electric bass // Andrea Hensler - keyboards // Jozef Becker - drums.

From whence the band comes/came: Alec Paleo (Grammy-nominated writer & archivist), Matt Piucci (Rain Parade, Hellenes), Derek See (Gentle Cycle, Strangers In A Strange Land), Jozef Becker (Thin White Rope, Loud Family, Game Theory, etc.), Andrea Hensler (Flower Furnace, Jean Genies).

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 368 ::: Thanks to the original taper, Zongo! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Thanks to Zongo for persevering with the recorder regardless of his strange neighbor. Thanks to modern technology & about 16 hours of work, I was able to almost entirely eradicate Zongo's neighbor's contributions. This is a killer show. Quite a different performance than the Berkeley outdoor show Zongo taped recently. There is a LOT more material, the overall sound is more laid back & the feel, in general, is more like Country Joe & The Fish. Matt's guitar is low in the first set (as it was in the entire hall) & comes up in the second (thanks to Zongo speaking to the soundman!). It is really stunning to hear the entire "Electric Music" album, including a live version of "Sad & Lonely Times". I worked on it for 2&1/2 days & am looking forward to some dedicated playback for listening-only purposes. Now your chance is here as well. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
