Show Notes: Courtney is keeping a low profile in 2017, with this I believe her only scheduled show for the year (at least for Melbourne anyway). If you're going to come out of hibernation, supporting Patti Smith is a pretty damn good reason. A very rocking and loud show, I was very glad I took earplugs because it was a little overbearing for me.

I've tried to find out what the unknown song is, but a google search on the lyrics reveals nothing, so possibly it's a new song? That, or a very obscure cover. It's a very grungy loud song! A great start to the night, and an appreciative crowd, which you don't always get for the support act, but this is Courtney Barnett after all, and it's her home town.

Recording Notes: As I mentioned in the Patti Smith torrent, I really dislike Festival Hall, for many reasons. The sound mix was not optimal, and my device could not handle the volume unfortunately, which is the first time it's happened since I started recording with it, as it was super loud. It's not unlistenable, but there is some distortion, particularly on songs like Pedestrian At Best, but "quieter" songs like Depreston sound fine. A little bit of talking around me, as often happens when a support act is on, but it's not too bad. It's worth a download if you're a Courtney fan and/or were there on the night (and maybe you can tell me what track 8 is called). Enjoy!
