The Crusaders - New Orleans 1977 + London 1978 FM (reseed with tweeks)

No introduction should be necessary for The Jazz Crusaders whose music spanned more than 3 decades and 40 LP's. These 2 shows are taken from their "Free as the Wind" and "Images" tours, and bridge the "Live" gap between the classic lineup with Wayne Henderson & Larry Carlton into one featuring their new guitarist Billy Rogers and Robert "Pops" Popwell. At this point Joe Sample had a few solo lp's under his belt as well as Wilton Felder and "Stix" Hoo-Paa. The band would see major commercial success the following year with "Streetlife". Currently Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, and Wayne Henderson (but not Stix) are touring once again. Alas, there are so few Crusaders shows appearing here in Dime prior to these dates making this one special. All Praise go out to the original tapers, and the original seeder Mr Mags!

The Crusaders (same Line up for both shows):

Joe Sample - Keyboards
Wilton Felder - Tenor Saxophone
Nesbert "Stix" Hooper - Drums
Robert "Pops" Popwell - Bass
Billy Rogers - Guitar

April 2010 Tweeks:
Track-1 is incomplete and cuts-in, I added :03 sec fade-in. Track-5 is incomplete, The end was cut-off cold probably on the original 47 min cassette. I picked a less abrupt end point -:08 seconds earlier and added fade-out. Tracks 1-5 were recorded too loud but I left them alone and hope a new complete source will be shared. Tracks 6-11 have a few fade in's/out's on applause at beginning or end of the song probably to cut out the radio DJ.
