D. L. BYRON CORRECTED
MY FATHERS PLACE
OLD ROSLYN, NY
00/00/1980

Several years ago, someone on DIME wanted to know if anyone had the DL Byron concert recorded at My Father's Place and broadcast over WLIR-FM. I knew that I pretty much had a complete catalog of WLIR broadcasts from the late '70's through the early '80's so I took a look through my tapes and sure enough there it was. So, I posted it on Dime in 2003 or 2004. Not long ago, I was looking through some old CD's (looking for something else) and came across the DL Byron show. The label had fallen off the tape, so I am not sure about the date of this, but since he played the Bottom Line in April of 1980 I have to think that it was around the same time. You can narrow it down by checking out whatever dates were on a Tuesday, because that the day that WLIR broadcast live shows from MFP and you can hear the DJ mention that it is a Tuesday in the opening of the show. I did check the setlist against the Bottom Line show and it is the same. I did some digging attempting to find the correct date and discovered that Byron has a cult following and is still producing CD's on a small record label. It will be interesting to me to see how many hits this show gets, as I am absolutely unfamiliar with the artist. But, I bet there are people out there that have been dying for this show to surface, so enjoy.
