NOTES:

So I had the oppurtunity to make my way up to Santa Barbara for the first time in celebration of the Starry Nites Festival, a small micro-festival put together with shoestrings and scotch tape it felt like. Regardless of the layout and chaos, it was a beautiful location (Live Oak Campground) with beautiful weather and as the name of the festival states, endless stars in the night time sky (well at least until the fog from the ocean rolls in). It was a cool festival with a very chill, relaxing, and frienly vibe (there were only max 2,000 people there or so - a HUGE difference from the big boy festivals like Coachella). So with that said, it was super easy to go get a great spot and view of the bands playing any of the stages (in fact most people chose to sit further back amongst the shade and trees), so finding a taping spot was no problem.

This was my first time seeing the Dandy Warhols (no idea how I've missed them all these years), and they sure didn't disappoint in any of my expectations. A very droney set (to start with) with a very chill crowd. It was pretty perfect to be honest, and they played pretty much everything I expected to hear, so I was happy in that respect as well. I got to meet Zia backstage earlier in the day, and she's awesome! She even spotted me out in the crowd later in the day and waved, which was nice :) Enjoy!
