Member 'sselavy'has been very helpful with details for many of my posts and has provided me with
some of his own great recordings, including this one where my own tape ran out 3min before the
end, so I was able to seamlessly merge the end of his recording onto mine.
For those unfamiliar with Danny Thompson, he has been a seminal figure in British modern music,
backing Pentangle and Alexis Korner in the early 60's, John Martyn since the 70's and has continued
in many musical settings, including playing with the great Richard Thompson (no relation) to this day
- I have a recording of these 2 together to come soon.
He has also led his own jazz group and this one, from the Bath Festival, features Paul Dunmall
and John Etheridge (no introduction needed for these two) plus long time collaborator Tony Roberts.
This is a great performance from everybody (drums not missed at all), along with some typical
Northern humour from Danny to go with his great rhythymic bass playing, so...
...Enjoy !!
