Notes:

This was my 16th H&O show. I've loved these two for 30 years and I hope it's obvious that I don't wish to say anything against them, but their
static setlist is as bad as the Moodies. The only variations I noticed from the last show I saw by them (in 2011) was a lengthier intro jam to
"No Can Do" and that Daryl is finally minimizing his attempts to reach the high notes (although, he seems to speak-sing a lot more than he used
to). Now, to make up for that criticism, I have to say this was the best H&O show I've seen in the past decade (which were all paid shows, as
opposed to this free fair performance). The two of them seemed to be in a really cheerful mood this evening and there's a particularly cute
exchange between them before the band intros.

People lined up for H&O immediately after the afternoon Air Supply show ended at 2:30. Many of them actually cheated by leaving their jackets
to hold their place in an invisible queue and went into the Air Supply show (personally, I don't think that was fair). I remember when one could
walk around at the fair all day and then get in line at 5pm for a 7:30 show and still get a decent seat. But I overheard a lot of horror stories
from people who went to some of the 2012 fair shows and stood in lines that extended into the carnival area (i.e. very far away). I wasn't able
to attend last year's fair, and supposedly the August 5, 2013 show by Hunter Hayes brought in such a large crowd (over 15,000), that they actually
had to turn people away. It appears more and more people are now coming to these shows. So after I looked at the sad animals in the livestock
area and took a pic of the marquee, I got in the queue for H&O around 3:15. Fortunately, they let us into the Grandstand Arena at 6 so we could
at least spend the remaining 90 minutes sitting. And even better, during the show, only the front rows stood, so I got to sit for this entire
performance. However, I couldn't see John anymore after the first encore due to more people standing, which is why there's a distinct lack of
photos of him in the later shots provided with the pics I took of the show.

This recording has that same phasing issue that plagued my Air Supply recording from earlier in the day, but it's definitely not as bad and you
might not even notice it most of the time. Despite the loud PA and only being 21 rows from the stage, it wasn't good enough to avoid the problem
of taping outside with giant, swinging stacks. There is also some wind noise (as is the norm of evenings in Ventura, it was very cold and windy),
but it's only noticeable between a few songs and in "Family Man" and after "LVT." And there is a lot of feedback from "No Can Do" through "YMMD."

The crowd was actually the most well-behaved I've ever had around me at a Ventura County Fair show. The only problem was a group of about 6 people
to my left. They never sat still and were constantly going by me to go up to the front (and come back when they got kicked out of the area), get
drinks, go the restroom, etc. Sometimes they talked in the aisle as they came and went, and they got kind of screamy between songs and before and
during "LVT." The phasing caused by them is only really bad during "No Can Do" when it felt like every single one of them went by me half a dozen
times.

As for other crowd noise, you'll hear some background chatter on occasion, but there's nothing that is totally invasive. There is clapping along
in "OOT," "SIIS," "Maneater," "No Can Do" and "KOML." There is also some talking by guards in the nearby aisle as they seated people or tried to
clear the aisle (I felt sorry for the lone guard who had to constantly argue with people to move and stop blocking the aisle).

I amplified this, but you'll more than likely still have to turn it up. I did nothing else to the recording. And if burning to cd, the suggested
split is between "Maneater" and "No Can Do."
