One of my all-time favorite Dave shows, it's been laying on the shelf gathering dust for quite sometime with the
"not for trade" stipulation attached to it...Last week I received a different sourced soundboard
copy from friends in Santa Cruz...no stipulations attached to this copy, so i thought i'd share it
with everyone...this is a 'red hot' soundboard recording, the band's playing is amped up and inspired,
Dave's guitar and vocals are gloriously ragged(sorry neil)...

THIS WAS NOT YOUR TYPICAL DAVE & GM SHOW

Boaz was down in Brazil surfing, so the Blaster's John Bazz filled in on bass, talking to John last year
about this show, he warmly recalled that Dave contacted him at the last moment, John groaned that he
wasn't familiar with alot of the music, Dave told him not to worry 'JUST GO FOR IT', which he did
admirably, with sheet music on stage throughout the night.

Brantley(fiddle) and Handsome Jack(harmonica) were all over the place on this recording, filling in all the muddy
breaks LOUDLY.

And of course, the LOVELY Christy McWilson, who Dave flew in from Seattle specifically for the show,
sang beautifully with the band, giving us a peek at future Guiltywomen tours.

Also, one of the earliest versions of Ashgrove was played.

I mentioned this show to Dave back in December(he's got an incredible memory), he remembered it as a 'wild ass show,
sloppy, but everyone had a ball'.

Story behind the story: Todd Snyder was originally scheduled to headline the 2003 Humbug Hoedown,
but was forced to pull out due to, shall we say, personal reasons...Dave was contacted at the last
minute to fill in, graciously accepted, and now you have it, quite a show. Thank you Todd.
