Welcome to Volume 147 of the "Two Of Us" Master Series.
Between 1983 and 2002 there were not any tapers more active than the "Two Of Us". For the better part of two decades they taped over 250 artists with an array being taped multiple times.
If you collect Springsteen then you are already familiar with some of their work, "fmcleanboots" has posted a half dozen or so of their "Tunnel Of Love" tour shows but has decided to pass the baton
What you don't know is their passion was not just for Springsteen but for music and that passion runs deep. It is astonishing how many artists they taped.
They followed tours taping club shows, theater shows, arena shows, big artists, mid-level artists and local artists.
If they were following a tour and the tour had an off night they'd see who else was playing that night to tape. Always focused on enjoyment of the show as the priority,
tickets were for the most part acquired outside of the venue as they worked to obtain the best possible seats, continually trading up until the correct seats were acquired.
The results of this were the captures are uniformly excellent but on occasion the start of the show was sacrificed as a trade-off for the seats.
The heavy lifting was done by the Sony WM-D6C and an external Shure Mic before moving to DAT for the last couple of years. None of their masters have ever been circulated and
have been safely stored for the past three to four decades in a climate controlled environment. Tapes transferred so far are in pristine condition.
Though we may do some mini releases of a series of shows in order for one portion of a tour for the most part shows will not be released in order, there are just too many of them.
This will be a very exciting series and we hope along the way we upgrade existing circulating audio and offer up shows that do not have any circulating audio. We hope you enjoy the ride, this is definitely not a dark ride.

Dave Edmunds Rock 'n' Roll Revue @ Orpheum Theatre - Boston, MA March 10, 1990
Volume 147 of the Two Of Us Master Series follows Volume 139 as the next night in our series of uncirculated shows that Two Of Us capture of Dave Edmunds Rock 'n' Roll Revue.
Dave Edmunds got the idea to put on a Rock 'n' Roll Revue after doing an HBO salute to Carl Perkins that included performances by George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Rosanne Cash saying "I liked the idea of working with people I respect and admire and whom I'd gotten to know and that's why we got this tour together".
Originally wanting Nick Lowe to participate, who's album "Party Of One" Edmunds had just produced, Nick passed saying he didn't think Edmunds would get the revue together. He opted to go out on tour with John Hiatt instead.
Two Of Us were taping multiple shows a week, every week for two decades, as mentioned previously there we so many shows to travel to they rarely acquired tickets prior to each show. The goal was to secure entrance as soon as possible as well as getting the best possible taping seats. For the Boston stop they once again acquired very good taping seats. This show misses the few opening Edmunds songs and Kim Wilson's set joining the first song of Graham Parker's set in progress.
We do get treated to a few different songs tonight, Dion replaces "Drop Down Mama" with the great "Written On The Subway Wall/Little Star", Dave Edmunds' adds "Closer To The Flame" and "I Feel So Right" to his set and we get a wonderful addition of "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay".
There are many highlights throughout the show and reviews of multiple shows almost all note the highlight of the show being Graham Parker's 30 minute set, additionally I'd mention Dion's set is excellent with a major highlight being Steve Cropper's three minute guitar solo during "King Of The New York Streets" and of course Dave Edmunds has to always be considered the highlight of any show he's part of...
There are very few Revue shows in circulation these include:
March 16th - New York City (FM broadcast)
March 17th - Philadelphia (audience)
March 19th - New Haven (audience - new to circulation as part of the series)
April 7th - San Francisco (FM and Audience - banned with portions officially released)
April 17th - London (13 songs broadcast on "Rocksteady"
These shows are a ton of fun and are a welcome addition the Dave Edmunds' live archives.

Thanks to Goody's consistent attention to detail keeping us rolling with the correct pitch week after week.
As always a massive thanks to "Two Of Us" and their dedication to capturing all these legendary performers, the HOURS and HOURS spent waiting in line, traveling, money on tickets as well as trusting me to be the caretaker of their life's work, our little community is indebted to you both. Also, a big thank you to my friend "fmcleanboots" for putting me in touch and laying the groundwork that has resulted in all these great releases...we've barely scratched the surface.
