I received this tape as a bonus in trade shortly after the concert. The guy told me he had just taped it and was happy with the way it turned out. It is an excellent audience tape, especially for the time period.
Dave Mason live material is scarce, and I've never seen this tape circulated before. There was no date or venue on the tape and Google was of no help. However, in the intro to All Along the Watchtower, Dave mentions that Dylan would be there "Sunday," and Dylan did have a date Feb 3, 1974 in Bloomington, so it can be assumed that this concert took place in late January/early February.
The title of Mike Finnegan's song on track 06 is best-guessed as My Baby's Done Gone. Corrections welcome.
No EQ/compression/noise reduction was used. A bit of peak normalization with SoundForge was necessary - one channel seems more compressed than the other, so care was taken to make sure that both channels were as even as possible without using compression/limiting, although the weak channel does drift a bit.
