Stripeydave says:
This recording is dedicated to my wife and kids, Gillian and Dave, and my two newest friends, Jeff and Sarah. Thanks for being there! Thanks to the band for a truly stellar performance!

What do you say when you get to meet your heroes and find out that they are indeed as heroic as you expected, and even more than that, just sweet, kind folk?
Having lost all hope of seeing them at Hardly Strictly, when news of a local show popped up I knew there was something in the air. Made my way down to one of my very favorite local clubs here where the food is as good as the music, and always a treat. As luck would have it, I got to meet them both before the show, to give them a copy of another show of theirs that I'd taped, and some goodies grabbed from here that I thought they would enjoy. Got to sneak in a request (answered!) on the way back to the room, then proceeded to enjoy what may be the single finest show I have ever witnessed.
A lot can be said about the prodigious talent in Dave's fingers, but I can't say enough about how solid and amazing Gillian is at laying down that foundation for Dave to noodle over! I haven't felt this way since seeing Jerry and Bob together, a long, long time ago... sigh... There was a magic, a lighthearted joviality to the evening, which was only made more special by the fact that there didn't seem to be more than about 120 people in the room! Only in LA, that's all I can say! The recording is pretty good as I was lucky enough to score a side table where I was able to just set down the gear. Occasionally you'll hear an empty bottle being slid by, but not too often or intrusive. The crowd was lively and in a good mood but happily quiet during the songs.
So sit back and enjoy the music.
Hopefully it will bring you as much joy as it has brought to me

So keep your windows open please and try to upload as much as you download. I understand it may be tough on dialup, so if you can't, no worries... just try to share it with as many people as you can by other methods, preferably through random acts of kindness.

One last thing, if you like this show then please go out and buy their albums. You won't be disappointed. Support live Independent Music! The life you save will be your own!
