I asked the Dime mods about the DJ Intro/Outro, which are spoken over the show's theme song ("officially released content") and they OK'd them for inclusion since they are both very short and overspoken. A big "thank you" to the mods! The Intro/Outro "bookend" the broadcast very nicely.

Lineage:

FM broadcast (12-Mar-1978) >
Recorded (by me) on long-forgotten cassette deck on cheap Scotch brand tape >
Sony TC-WE475 >
Flying Calf A/D converter >
M-Audio Delta DiO 2496 >
Adobe Audition (much needed hiss/noise reduction) >
WAV >
TLH >
FLAC6

The final result is far from perfect, but still quite good considering its age (and the low quality of the original cheap cassette tape!). Check the samples.

Parental Advisory - Explicit Language

This show is a completely uncensored record of a classic Dave Van Ronk performance.
It is politically incorrect and contains the "F word".

That is part of its inestimable charm.

********************************************************************************

I have tracked Dave's talking mostly separately. He covers a fascinating range of topics: from the merits of Randy Newman's "Short People" to the musical preferences of amorous 14-year olds to Robert Graves' "I Claudius" to Jelly Roll Morton (to name just a few).
