Knut A used to record concerts in Tromsš (a town in Northern Norway) and the surrounding areas from the mid-1980's to the mid-1990's. Among his tapes were recordings of Rory Gallagher, Wishbone Ash, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Walter Trout Band, John Scofield, John McLaughlin, Terje Rypdahl, Bernie Marsden, James Brown and others. When he passed away in 1996, his sister lent me the tapes and asked me to make a kind of inventory. I also transferred them to CDRs for her and kept wav-copies for myself. Over the years I've already offered most of the tapes on DAD, but there are still a few left. This is one of them.

I'm not at all familiar with Dave Alvin or The Paladins, so you'll have to fill in the song titles yourself ... The complete recording is a little over 81 min's, so it'll need 2 audio discs. The first part of the show is just The Paladins (disc 1), and the second part (disc 2) is Dave Alvin backed by The Paladins.

The sound quality is not the best, but judging from some remarks made by the taper between songs, it seems like it must have been like that at the show itself too; He's complaining about the distorted sound to a friend, and says he's having trouble finding a spot in the venue where the sound is OK. The more "mellow" parts sound good, though, and there's some good playing by Dave Alvin in there.
