Christmas came early! Well, three days prior, but with that the JEMS team strikes once again with new recordings. However, this time we go far away from our comfort zone and we bring to you a true rarity.

David Bromberg is a legend on his own. He has created a cult of following that regards him as one of the greatest expositors of folk music and no one can deny that.

With that being said, it's exactly why we're quite surprised to discover that there havent been more recordings of this era on DIME, so we're happy to add a good one to the trading pool.

The quality of the recording is really fine for the era. Samples provided.

There are a few minor issues in the recording such as scratches (which were most likely done by the taper striking the microphone) and some high levels (likely due the volume of the PA), because if removed, would result in cuts in the recording, and we like to share every second of these recordings, even with the aforementioned imperfections.

On another subject: The thing with the bluegrass music is that, unless you're really into it, you'll find hard to identify the songs (at least it was for me) and especially with this show. Bromberg is in a great mood throughout the night, making joke and talking with the crowd, making the ambience of the concert more and more intimate.

So if you're a fan of bluegrass or at the very least, you're a Bromberg lover, this is really for you!

Huge thanks to CHICAGOBLUES for helping me with the setlist. Sadly, JEMS friend Ethan, who recorded the show, passed away last February, but he wanted to get his collection out to the world so we know he would have been happy to see his David Bromberg master finally posted.

The JEMS Archives are vast and we're just scratching the surface. There a lot of other recordings waiting for proper transfer/upload and we'll always work for liberate them for your enjoyment.

Last but not least, we, all the people that comprise the extended JEMS family, want to wish happy holidays to all of you.
