Here is an excellent soundboard David Crosby at The Bitter End in New York. I would rate the sound an “A”. This is a show from 1993 with Jeff Pevar backing him on electric guitar. This is an excellent performance with Crosby obviously enjoying himself (it’s hard to find a later show when he is not!). Both he, and Pevar, really get into the tunes performing some songs that are a little bit on the rare side. Marc Cohn joins them on stage for his version of “Old Soldier”, a song that Crosby recorded on the Thousand Roads album. He also does a great version of his song, “Perfect Love”.
Now for the sound junkies…This recording is from an analog tape copy of the original soundboard DAT. As a result, I had to do a bit of “tweaking” to get the sound right. There was a real slight bit of tape hiss because of it being from the analog tape. I used WavePad to remove as much of it as I could without losing the performance quality. After I was done editing it together (it was on two 60 minute tapes), it came out at 84 minutes +/- so (for you purists) I did edit some of the between song tuning, etc. to make it fit on one cd. Also, you don’t have to “normalize” prior to burning. When I did I could hear the separation between tracks. Of course I separated tracks and faded in and out at the beginning and end. Of course because I get a bit anal (as my wife says), I spent hours on ‘the tweaks” and my wife couldn’t even tell the difference from the original!
I think you will all enjoy. I’ll add some .mp3 samples for you.
