1st Lois Capps For Congress Benefit
Opened For Jackson Browne

Taper Notes:
This is one of my favorite benefit shows that I have recorded. Lois Capps’ husband Walter had recently died on an airplane going back to Washington while in office, and she ran to take his seat. She is still in office, 16 years later.
About a year or so ago, my friend Roy in Chicago alerted me that some a-hole had pressed my recording into a bootleg CD and was selling it on Ebay. They actually called it a ‘soundboard’, (nice compliment, huh?) and included cheesy artwork with Lois’s last name spelled incorrectly.

This is why artists hate live recording!!!!! I was pissed to learn that someone was making money off of this recording, which should be shared freely among fans. There’s always someone out there who has to make a fast buck from someone else’s music, and someone else’s recording.

I HATE Bootleggers, as those of you who know me will attest to. I don’t call my live audio masters ‘bootlegs’. I hate that word, because it brings bad connotations onto the world of live tapers. ‘Bootlegs’ are made by bootleggers; people who are solely into profit and could care less for anything else, let alone accuracy.

So please share this recording FREELY!!!! and don’t convert to MP3.

Thanks goes out to OldNeumanntapr for taping and sharing his DAT Master.

The sound qaulity on this is very clear and close, with a quiet crowd.
