LDB Special Series #431

Out of my 7,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the
musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my
cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed!
I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my
reward for all the work involved in this project.

DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3's is the right way to make me stop sharing
music here.

I received this one in a trade shortly after the show took place. Quality is ok although I can imaging that the taper had
some major problems. I had attended and recorded the very first Gilmour comeback show the previous year at the Royal
Festival Hall (the one officially released on DVD) and had the same sort of problems myself. First: the recording level.
That show had a variety of music volumes which was extremely hard to capture: from extremely quiet sections (Bizets
"Je Crois Entendre Encore" or "Smile") till the rockier sections ("High Hopes") not to forget the audience shouting.
Second: the security. During my recording in London there were lots of security people and at one point one of them just
sat close to me, which resulted of being totally unable to check the recording levels. The taper here was forced to hide
his recording kit and infact you can hear that sometimes the sound is more muffled, like somebody trying to hide his
microphone.

In all, a good recording. I extracted the CD content and edited the music a bit, trying to better balance quiet and loud
sections and lowering down applauses. Now I like it better.

What a great gig it was at Royal Festival Hall in June 2001! I am sure the Paris show was as enjoyable as that one...

Enjoy!
