I don't know the source of this recording. Too bad the quality isn't as good for the forst 80 minutes or so
as it is at the end. The venue is an acoustically superb concert hall. I was in college at the time
and promoter a show the night before in Binghamton NY. Back then I didn't have a phone. The morning
of the Troy show I was paged on the radio(!) as Darrel had forgotten his violin in Binghamton. So I drove
through the snow in a 1971 Plymouth Duster without heat to Troy to deliver his instrument. I got invited
to dinner and the show by the bank president. It turned iout Darrel was seriously ill, which may have led to
his fiddle being left behind. He had to take some time off afterward to heal.
