info:
Stéphane Grappelli (26 January 1908 – 1 December 1997) was a French jazz violinist.
Best known as a founder of the Quintette du Hot Club de France with guitarist Django Reinhardt in 1934.
It was one of the first all-string jazz bands.
He has been called "the grandfather of jazz violinists" and continued playing concerts around the world well into his eighties.
When this recording was made Stéphane was 71 years old.
Thanks to Professor Goody for the speed/pitch offsets and advice so I could make the corrections.
Thanks to ethiessen1 for the beautiful jewel box artwork on this and so many other concerts.
Finally, thanks to John Musgrave for loaning me the master cassettes so everyone can hear this again
For historical reference only and not intended for resale or any commercial use
Enjoy…
