This is a terrific recording from Yukotopia, a small club located on Adachi Ward in Tokyo, named after it's owner Yuko. It was a small venue, holding about 100 people, and the recording reflects it. The club was the center of Tokyo's Deadhead scene, but it closed in about 2015. During the Dead's 1980 Warfield shows, a group of Japanese Deadheads traveled to San Francisco and attracted the band's attention with a homemade banner hung from the balcony, got backstage passes, etc. At the end of the final October 14 show, before the encores, Weir thanks folks from Japan for hanging out at the shows. The story is that Yuko was among them. Like all stories, that may not be true, but there's a description of the club, the Japanese Deadhead scene and the Warfield shows here: https://wallofnews.love/season01/the-warlocks/
Enjoy!
