OK, I was at the Christmas party at a local movie/recording studio owned by the wife of Decoys guitarist, Kelvin Holly. This is an annual affair that attracts a lot of local musicians and a few from out of town. The studio is located on Alabama Street in Sheffield, Ala., and is the former location of the second Muscle Shoals Sound Studios.
Didn't think to ask ahead of time to open tape, but I bought the R-09 just for the hell of it. I found a good place, actually above a doorway and hit record. I love to experiment, but it actually came out OK for the recorder's onboard mics. You can occasionally hear some folks talking. It's more noticeable on certain tracks, but overall not too distracting. Again, it was an experiment that turned out good enough to share.
enjoy!
