"Stratcat58" notes;
Yet another from Swedish trading partner PEJ, this one from a 1990 tape trade.
Another period that is fairly well represented by audio recordings with the best being the well-known Copenhagen show from March 1st 1972 as recorded by DR, Denmark’s national radio and television corporation.
This Helsinki recording is a LONG way from that one in terms of sound quality, but it does have some unique features once your ears adjust to the murkiness of the recording.
The speed/pitch adjustments that were done improve things as well (the music originally played back more than a semitone sharp/fast).
There is an extended warm up/tune up section before the show properly begins with “Speed King” (about to be permanently replaced by “Highway Star” as the opening number).
Also one of the final appearances of “Fireball” as an encore.
