stratcat58 notes;
Yet another recording from Swedish trading partner PEJ from one of our initial tape trades back in 1986.
This show was part of a September/October ’72 UK tour.
Unfortunately, only the first ~56 minutes were captured so we are missing out on “Space Truckin’” along with any encores they might have played that night.
Not the best quality ’72 DP show out there but hey it’s the MK II band so we’ll take what we can get.
If there’s a longer version of this show out there, I’m not aware of it.

At this point in the band’s history tensions between Gillan and Blackmore are reaching their peak (although you would never know it from their live shows) with their punishing touring schedule no doubt being a major contributing factor.
October would see them finishing up the recording of “Who Do We Think We Are” in Frankfurt, Germany before returning to the US one last time in ’72 to finish out the year.
This US trek would see Gillan formally quitting the band in December mid tour while agreeing to finish out the band’s committed touring schedule through June ’73.

PLEASE ENJOY THE MUSIC, WHILE YOU STILL CAN, BEFORE YOU'RE DEAD! AND WE'RE ALL DYING IN HERE, BUT YOU'RE NOT DEAD YET, BUT YOU WILL BE SOON AND AND WHAT GOOD WILL YOUR RECORDINGS BE THEN WHEN YOU'RE DEAD AND GONE AND YOU'RE NO LONGER HERE TO ENJOY THEM ANYMORE WITH ANYONE ELSE, SO LET'S NOT DIE WITHOUT SHARING OUR RECORDINGS...
