Today itīs 35 years since Tommy Bolinīs untimely passing, and I for one thought Iīd remember him with this show. Itīs his second gig with DP, the first having been played 11 days prior, so at times itīs pretty rough. Especially Burn, where everyone seem to lose their mark at one time or another. Still, when they get into it, this is a feisty little bugger and thereīs some great playing here. My favourite thing about this recording is that Tommyīs guitar is very prominent in the mix.

This is also a pretty recent show to come into circulation, so most copies would sound the same, but I reedited it today since I thought it ran just a tad too fast + the trackmarks were way off. Lastly I beefed up the low end a bit since it sounded a bit flat. Sample provided.

Lazy is cut, missing the drumsolo. Otherwise a quite fine performance of a song I rarely enjoy by this lineup.

Oh, listen to the beautiful soul-jam-thingy after Smoke. Itīs not Georgia on my mind just yet, it would be soon after this gig, but here itīs something else. Maybe itīsa real song, maybe someone knows it? Itīs very beautiful with Glenn singing what seems to me an improvised lyric, aswell as Tommy doodling some great stuff. If you donīt want this gig for other reasons then get it just for this short jam - I promise itīs worth it.

Enjoy this, and remember Tommy Bolin.
