sometimes it's a bit curious what's going on in my brain, this time I mean: earworms. You all might know that earworms sometimes can be
some really awful songs, long forgotten and much hated! Me, I had "Highway Star" as an earworm for some days this year late July. Have no idea why. Not that bad earworm.
That was the main reason why I decided to go this concert.
It was a rainy evening, coming to the club downstairs in a small shopping center, I paid the 180 czk and was in. A small, but (maybe) four hundred meters long-
souterrain-club with a small stage on one side, a small dance floor and the rest filled up with banks and tables 'til the back. The band just installed their equipment
and I was the only visitor. Felt right - looking at the weather, but: no, it felt strange. For not getting a hard depression I ordered me a beer, sat down and waited.
One after another some more visitors showed up, let me say: all in all there were maybe 20+ visitors.
When the band started noone was on the dance floor - so sad. It suddenly filled up with two young girls, dancing, one was more into table-dance - which absolutely did not
fit with the music, so it was quiet o.k. and funny. The table-dance-girl reminded me of one of the "Soapgirls" (for those who might know that band).
After a short pause some more people showed up in front of the band which made it more feel like a concert.
Deep Purple Pilsen - of course a Deep Purple - tribute-band from the beneighboured city of Pilsen played songs from all Deep Purple - times, from "new" to old.
The singer was quiet o.k., the bass and drums and keys were fine and "Richie Blackmore" was really really good. And they all had fun - despite the situation.
I did not know all the songs as I once was familiar with Deep Purple, but that's more than 40 years ago, but was somehow happy or astonished to hear "Burn" or "Soldier of fortune"
or "Sail away" played live.
And on my way home to the hotel it still was raining....
