This is digitized from the syndicated radio disc as flac files of wavs. Unfortunately it didn't have the cue sheet with it. I wasn't familiar with the Desert Rose Band, but it's a Chris Hillman (Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers) and Herb Petersen (Dillards) project.
On the country charts, Summer Wind was a #2, I Still Believe In You a #1, Love Reunited a #6, and She Don't Love Nobody a #3. I also found the sound of "Start All Over Again" intriguing, as they're using a chorus delay pedal more typical of rock bands like The Cure.
Larry, a reader of this blog, left some great comments that far surpass my ability to discuss this band, so I'm going to quote them here:
"The DRB was one of the best country/rock bands of the '80s and early '90s. Herb Pederson is the harmony voice on literally hundreds of the best country-flavored records of the late '60s and most of the '70s, singing with everyone from the original Burrito Brothers to Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor and on and on. In the days before Auto Tune, producers called Herb to "sweeten" the vocals. He WAS the SoCal vocal harmony sound. Guitarist John Jorgensen did a lot of experimental stuff (for country at least) on guitar. He's also the best American Django Reinhardt-style player AND he has served as Elton John's lead guitarist. He's also a wiz at swing clarinet and can play soulful B3 organ. He is NOT human, far as I can tell. If you don't know Chris Hillman's amazing story, go to Wiki right now. The DRB was incredible and when they reunite, they still can be. Check them out." - Larry
In closing, I'll mention that while I was researching the DRB and "Westwood One Presents" on the Internet (checking to see if this was already out there....), I saw a torrent of a 1987 broadcast with a different track listing, and a 1990 broadcast with an unknown track listing (might be the same as this show...). There is also a "Live From Gilley's" show with a set list that's identical to the 1987 "Presents" show.
