Got a call from a friend who roadied for DEVO and played in the very DEVO-esque band NUTRA that DEVO were scheduled to play a mini-set mid-day at their local union hall to raise money for a brother musician, Larry Dominello, who had maxed out his heallth care and needed to raise more money to continue to be treated for a terminal ailment. The boys were there. No green room or dressing rooms so the band patiently waited their turn. The days line-up was huge, incredibly diverse and ever evolving. There was no advertising beyond the union members and no performers were scheduled. Despite that fact there were about 25 or so DEVO fans in the 100+ or so family audience. A lot of whom patiently waited outside while DEVO played.
