The Dexateens played an "in store" show on the second floor of the new Billy Reid Clothing Store in downtown Florence. Billy is a well known men's fashion designer who opened a store and headquarters in our town. The is sort of a private affair but if you know someone who works there, well, you know.
It was very dark. Lots of candles, but no lights on the band whatsoever. It was a short, hot set and the recording came out well. I'm sure it could be heard outside on the streets below. Elliott commented about how this was not like most of the venues they play. "New Boy" was the only track from "Singlewide" they played during either show.
We recorded this show, enjoyed some of the free beverages, then broke down and headed to the other Dexateens performance at a street party outside the venerable Old Town Tavern in Sheffield. I still haven't figured out why John Smith was not at this show. A mystery! enjoy!
