This was taped at Dick Dale's final Sydney show at The Metro on his Australian tour in I think 1996. I taped this on a DAT using a microphone and the sound worked out pretty good. Unfortunately when I transfered it to my PC a few years later the tape destroyed itself in the machine and this is all I have from this show. I still have the destroyed tape and may try a transfer again one day if I get the chance... I don't have a more accurate date for the show as the tape was unlabelled... yes I was and am very slack with this.

I still have another tape from the 1st show Dick did at the Metro, but need to find a nice DAT machine to tranfer it!!

Anyway Dick Dale came with fury to Australia and really left his mark. He did an instore at Phantom records (a tiny record store) where he played on the counter and really went for it. Standing at his feet while he played was magical. At one point he said to my partner "Hold this darling, thankyou" and handed her his guitar to her while he took his leather jacket off. After shows he would sign autographs and talk to people and was a real gentleman.

He did three shows at the Metro theatre as well which were all packed full of people who knew him because of the Pulp Fiction link. He took advantage to educate them on his own career and his environmental message.

So here are a few tracks from that tour... the sound captures the show quite well I think.

I'm sorry I can't do a track list as my Dick Dale CDs were all stolen a few years ago so any help is appreciated.
